The Northwest Association of Secondary and Higher Schools was formed as a voluntary organization on April 5, 1917 with a membership of 25 secondary schools and eight higher institutions in four Northwestern states. About NIOS

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) formerly known as National Open School (NOS) is an autonomous organization by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. NIOS board is a national board like CBSE and ICSE Board. The NIOS schools in India offer education under the NIOS curriculum.

NIOS Board was started by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 1979 with a purpose to provide flexible system of education to all. In 1986, the National Policy on Education suggested strengthening of Open School System as an independent system with its own curriculum and examination leading to certification. At the Secondary and Senior Secondary levels, NIOS provides flexibility in the choice of subjects/courses, pace of learning, and transfer of credits from CBSE, some Board of School Education and State Open Schools to enable learner’s continuation.

The Primary school is composed of Grades 1-5  with children aged 7-10 years. This is a stage where maximum acquisition of learning happens. To tap the energy and readiness of children to learn new skills and knowledge we have planned our methodology around an application-based learning approach. Students will be involved in investigations and experiments over passive learning to enhance interest and engagement.

Middle School

The middle school comprises Grades 6th, 7th & 8th and would have learners aged 11-14 years. We at ADITYA are aware of this transitional phase in a child’s life hence we have tried to build programs that best meet their social and psychological needs.
